Access Bank Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Growth and Financial Inclusion in Mozambique

Financial InclusionMaputo, Mozambique – September 26, 2025: Access Bank reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable growth and deepening financial inclusion in Mozambique, following the high-level visit of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Access Holdings PLC, the parent company of the Access Bank Group. The visit underscores the Group's pan-African expansion strategy and its role as a catalyst for economic development across the continent.

During the two-day visit, Aig-Imoukhuede held strategic meetings with senior government representatives, including Salim Valá, Minister of Planning and Development, and Rogério Zandamela, Governor of the Bank of Mozambique. Discussions focused on strengthening the alignment of the financial sector with Mozambique's national development priorities, improving macroeconomic stability, and expanding access to finance for individuals and businesses.

“Mozambique has enormous potential for inclusive growth,” said Aig-Imoukhuede. “Access Bank is committed to collaborating with government, businesses and communities to unlock opportunities in financial inclusion, infrastructure and sustainable development. As Africa’s gateway to the world, we are building a connected financial ecosystem that empowers people and accelerates prosperity.”

In addition to meetings with the government, the President met with key corporate clients, including Vodacom, MPDC, EDM, Intelec Holdings and Mpanda Nkuwa, to explore collaboration opportunities in critical sectors such as digital banking, infrastructure finance, energy, telecommunications and logistics. These sectors are fundamental to Mozambique’s economic advancement and regional competitiveness.

The visit concluded with a client relationship reception, strengthening ties with corporate partners, institutional stakeholders and the wider business community.
