Introduction

Our commitment to the education of young Mozambicans

Access Bank Mozambique is committed to promoting financial education through accessible and comprehensive programs, with the aim of empowering communities, especially rural ones, to make informed and responsible decisions regarding their finances.

Every year we hold financial literacy sessions in various elementary school across the country with the aim of teaching children and young people basic principles so that they can set goals, develop financial skills and build a prosperous and financially independent future.

We hold educational sessions at universities with the aim of promoting financial literacy among young university students. This is an initiative designed to make young people aware of the importance of being informed and acquiring knowledge that will enable them to make responsible decisions, both when managing their personal finances and when making investments.

We reiterate our commitment to developing educational and sustainable initiatives, contributing to a more empowered society capable of making informed decisions.

Innovative Project

Since entering the market, we have implemented a range of initiatives aimed at promoting financial literacy in Mozambique. One of the key highlights is the launch of the Finance Glossary, titled Mundo das Finanças, which compiles the most commonly used banking terms in everyday life. You can access the glossary here.

This glossary serves as a technical resource designed to explain essential financial and banking concepts in a clear, simple, and accessible manner. What sets it apart is its availability in several of Mozambique’s most widely spoken local languages, including Changana (Maputo), Emakhuwa (Nampula), Cindau (Sofala), Cinyungwa (Tete), Cithswa (Inhambane), and Ciwutee (Manica).

Our social media platforms also serve as dynamic channels for sharing and demystifying banking information, helping Mozambicans make more informed and confident financial decisions in their daily lives.

Through initiatives like this, we reaffirm our commitment to expanding access to financial knowledge and empowering communities across Mozambique. We believe that fostering a more inclusive and financially informed society also means celebrating and preserving the country’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity.
