Monica Macamo is Mozambican and currently an Independent Consultant.
Monica has held executive positions, most recently as Director of People and Culture (Human Resources) and a member of the Executive Committee at Standard Bank in Mozambique, an organization where she worked for over a decade before taking early retirement.
Her professional trajectory includes firms such as KPMG, where she worked for approximately two decades in different roles (Director of Human Resources, Director of Marketing and Research, and Executive Secretary). Her geographical professional experience includes Mozambique, South Africa, Angola, and the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo).
As an independent consultant, Monica worked for about a year advising ACCESS BANK in Angola, based in Luanda, on the Human Resources Integration process as part of an ongoing Merger and Acquisition.
With significant experience in Leadership, People Management, Personal and Organizational Development Consulting, Psychological Counseling, and Marketing Management, Monica Macamo is a Coach and Mentor for people at all levels, including Executives and Leaders in different spheres.
Mónica Macamo holds a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Psychology and a Master of Arts (MA) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (both PhD and Master's degrees were awarded by the Faculty of Economics and Management - University of South Africa (UNISA)). Mónica also holds two Bachelor's degrees (one in Clinical and Counseling Psychology and another in Organizational and Work Psychology), and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology - all three degrees were awarded by the Polytechnic University of Mozambique (A Politécnica)/Higher Polytechnic and University Institute (ISPU).
In addition to her exposure to academic research, Mónica's research experience and research has encompassed the overall management of prominent research projects at KPMG, including, among others, "The 100 Largest Companies in Mozambique," the "Business Environment Index in Mozambique," and the "Research on..." The Banking Sector in Mozambique.
Her responsibilities also extended to Knowledge Management. Mónica is an Accredited Trainer at KPMG International and was also responsible for coordinating the Center of Excellence in Research and Intelligence at KPMG Africa Region.
Mónica Macamo is also an internationally accredited presenter and trainer (including accreditation by international organizations such as "The KEN BLANCHARD Companies", COMPASS and KPMG International). Her experience encompasses Coaching, Mentoring, and advising executives and individuals (individually and in groups).
Mónica has been involved in the creation and marketing of different companies and chambers of commerce such as: KPMG in Angola; KPMG Africa Region; CTA (Working Committee of Associations), currently called "Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique"; CCIMOSA (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mozambique and South Africa); CCMUSA (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mozambique and the United States), ITC (Community Land Initiative) and Other.
She believes the world is much better; the important thing is for each person to believe that there are no limits to creating, procreating, co-creating, and recreating, and that every mind was generated with an incredible ability to innovate and transform. Attitude is what makes the difference in the excellence that each individual is capable of generating.
Monica Macamo firmly believes in Digital Transculturation and has been studying Culture in a curious way, to the point that her doctoral study focused on the Effects of Culture, Values, Technology Acceptance, and the Diffusion of Innovation on Attitudes towards the Adoption of Digital Banking (Effect of Culture, Values, Technology Acceptance and Diffusion of Innovation on Attitudes towards Digital Banking).
Monica Macamo is married and a mother of two. She finds in her Family the main foundation and school of Leadership, and believes in the power of Family.
In her free time, she enjoys working with nature, particularly with everything that has life, plants and animals of different species. She has a special passion for... Monica Macamo believes that humanity is the most special and unique being of Divine creation.
She is of the opinion that humans, in their diversity, are the species that makes the world so special and interesting. She does not believe in geographical limits when it comes to applying thought (we are all thinking and creative beings, and we have an equal responsibility to transform the Universe into a better place to coexist and make a difference).
