Marco Abalroado

With a degree in Business Management and Industrial Engineering from Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa and a post-graduate degree in Project Management from Instituto Superior de Gestão (Portugal), Marco Abalroado is the Managing Director of Access Bank Mozambique, part of the Access Bank PLC Nigeria Group.
 
This top executive has a vast professional experience in the banking area, having started his career as a Financial Services Manager for 5 years at ACCENTURE - Management Consultants, taking part in various projects in countries such as Portugal, Angola, Spain, Brazil and the United Kingdom. In 2006, Marco Abalroado was Deputy Director in the Operational Transformation Department - DTO, in Millennium BCP. Still in that banking institution, he led, until July 2008, process transformations using innovation. In the same year, he was also Global Project Manager for the implementation of a new global model of international subsidiary in Banco Espírito Santo (BES), UK subsidiary, London. His career at BES came to an end in December 2017, as Executive Vice President - International Units - Director ESI.
 
In Mozambique, Marco Abalroado led, at Moza Banco, the process of creating the Information Technology and Operations departments. He also coordinated the creation and setting up of the commercial, marketing, management and operational areas within the channels, cards and self-banking department, as well as the definition of the Global Marketing and Commercial Strategy.
 
Marco Abalroado was appointed Managing Director of Access Bank Mozambique in December 2018. In the exercise of this mandate, he is responsible for the preparation and launch of Operations (Southern Africa) and strategic definition of the business model of the subsidiaries.
