NUIB
Do you know how to get your Unique Bank Identification Number (NUIB)?
Through
Notice No. 10GBM2021, the Bank of Mozambique created the
Unique Bank Identification Number (NUIB), one of the objectives of which is to make the National Payments System more modern and secure.
As of
June 1, 2024, banking transactions will only be limited to customers who have a
NUIB (Unique Bank Identification Number). Customers who do not update may have their transactions suspended until the
NUIB is assigned.
The
NUIB is important to ensure efficient monitoring of your transactions in the financial system.
What documents are required?
Private accounts:
- Valid identification document.
- NUIT or equivalent for non-residents.
Business accounts:
- Valid certificate from the register of Legal Entities or equivalent for non-residents.
- NUIT or equivalent for non-residents.
- Official Gazette with publication of articles of association or memorandum of association.
Visit the nearest branch to obtain your
NUIB. Once you have received it, keep it safe as it may be required when carrying out certain banking transactions, including foreign exchange transactions.
